How many years have you been Cheering?
8 years!
Which team are you a part of or have you been previously a part of?
Before Phoenix, I was previously part of Baskervilles Allstars
What’s your favourite Cheer memory so far?
Winning FC Bournemouth with senior 1 after a really tough season! Or my first time making a level 3 team
What does Adaptive Abilities Cheerleading mean for you?
Adaptive abilities means so much to me, it’s such an inclusive sport and everyone is so friendly and understanding. It’s also made me feel more confident as an athlete as everyone encourages each other and cheers each other on.
How did you get involved in Adaptive Abilities Cheer?
This season I made phoenix Adaptive abilities level 4 team, Wildfire and then I was made aware of the team england adaptive abilities tryouts, which I thought was an amazing opportunity.
Are there any stunts/technique or training adaptations you make which you find especially interesting?
Basing in a chair group is very different to basing in an able body group and it’s been challenging but also very rewarding. For example when we do cradles we have to throw the flyer backwards, rather than up, and as a group we struggled with this but when we eventually got the technique it was so rewarding.
Why did you want to try out for this team?
I really wanted to try out for this team because it’s such an amazing opportunity to represent the country at worlds! Also the team is so inclusive and I thought that everyone would be so understanding about my disability!
What was it like when you attended try-outs for Team England AAA?
To start with I was very nervous as there were lots of talented athletes in the room all competing for the same spot! But once we got started I relaxed as the coaches were so friendly and they would encourage us!
Your favourite memory from being a part of Team England AAA (So far!)
I loved our training at Talent Central as it was the first time we got team England merch and we all started looking like a team.
Describe the funniest thing that’s happened to you while you were at training
When I fell on my face in a backwalkover during a full out and another team was watching.
What will you miss about Team England AAA and why?
I will miss the bond that we all have. Our bond as a team is so strong as we are all working towards the same goal and we spend so much time together that we all have got to know each other really well.
What does it mean to you to represent your country?
Being chosen to represent my country was a huge honour and I am extremely proud of myself for making the team. Being on a World’s team has been my dream since I started cheer 8 years ago, and I am ecstatic that the team I made was the national team!

What does Worlds mean to you?
It’s a chance to represent my country and to show that having a disability doesn’t hold you back from reaching your dreams!
What are you most excited to experience at Worlds 2023 other than competing?
I’m so excited to train at top gun!
Name a team from the United Kingdom and internationally that you are most excited to watch and explain why?
Unity allstars black because every time I watch them they take my breath away and TGLC because they are just perfection.
Are there any other AA teams you’re excited to watch?
Team England AA median
Name a quote that keeps you motivated
‘Do or do not, there is no try’ – Yoda
What advice would you give to someone who was scared to try-out for Team England this year?
Don’t be scared because the coaches and other athletes are so caring and understanding that they will make you feel welcome.
