Hi guys,
Today we are talking about which Cheer rules you should be following for the 2019-2020 season USASF or IASF?
The rules you should be following for the 2019-2020 season are IASF rules and SCUK age grid.
Exception
Please note that if you are competing outside of the UK then division requirements/limits and age ranges may be different and you will need to follow the guidelines set out by the Event Producer/Governing Body of that country.
Why are we following the IASF rules?
Events outside of the US must follow the IASF rules, as USASF rules are not available to non-USASF members?
Why are we not USASF members?
USASF is solely the United States All Star Federation, IASF is the International All-Star Federation.
The idea is that the IASF will determine the best route for the progression of cheer outside of the United States. Currently the IASF is preparing for the sport to be inducted to the Olympics and as a result, they are trying to streamline rules, divisions and scoring with the ICU model.
I would encourage all coaches and athletes to read the rule book and check the age grid and if you feel any doubts.
Email your event provider with video of your routines so you can check legalities.
