Hey guys
Try out / open season is fast approaching and this got me debating with a friend weather it’s ok to “jump ship” on you’re old team or not.
CFHHT feels, joining a Cheer programme is like applying for a job.
The try out is the interview and they are interviewing you as much as, you them. While your at try outs slash open session. You’re seeing weather you like their teaching style and fit in with their other members. Just like a job you want something from the programme. You’re making a trade, your time and commitment for their knowledge and guidance.
Just like a job ,you may come to a point where you have gained all the knowledge and guidance you can from your company . After this point, you start checking the internet, newspapers and using word of mouth to look for a new job. A job where you can be challenged more and gain more advance skills

Personally we believe its harmless to not at least research other cheer programmes. There are many reasons to look for another cheer programmes, one could be distant. You may find there is a cheer programme that is closer to your home which will cut down expenses. Another could be that you want a squad that focuses equally on tumbles to stunts. A Programme that has proper facilities and equipment or you may feel that you just don’t fit in with your current squad. If you hate something, change something, at the end of the day you’re paying for it and cheer is not cheap.
At the end of the day CFHTT believe that trying out for a new team is harmless. As long as you inform you’re current coach about how you are feeling before you go to try outs so it not a surprise.
