We at CFHTT felt we had to speak about this sad situation happening with Crimson Heat Tigers. A local School have banned these Athletes from performing at the Cheerleading Worlds and The Summit. When we first read this, we felt anger but on reflection we just see the lack of understanding and how much more work is needed to educate the general public about our sport.
Attending the cheerleading Worlds is an honour and a Privilege that many will never get to achieve. Cheerleading is an intense sport and it requires so much commitment and even more sacrifice.
A Large percent of Children today are not meeting the level of physical exercise required for them to stay healthy and obesity is sky rocketing and putting their future health at risk.
Many girls 16 and under only form of physical activity is PE which is so sad.
We understand why the Head is concerned because these students would miss seven school days and return only a couple of days before they are due to sit their GCSE exams.
But Head Coach Gareth Green has put a schedule in place for the girls to study. These girls have the support of their Coaches and their parent so it’s a shame their school doesn’t support them. Having to attend worlds and then do your GCSE is going to be such an important life skill. They are going to have to be so discipline but we know they can handle it.
Being Cheerleader is more than those 2.30 minute on the mat you are taught so many life skills .
Commitment
Discipline
Organisation
Communication
Presentation
And so much more the list is endless
We at CFHTT support you Crimson Heat Tigers.
