CFHTT’s uniform Reveal with Varsity UK

We were privileged enough to be sent a personalised uniform by Varsity UK

The uniform is made from Varsity’s own Allstar material called Motion Flex. Everyone from World Cup to a rec class wears the same standard of fabric when they order with Varsity. The purple and black panels are Motion Flex and the upper sleeve is black power mesh; mesh is also a very strong and hard wearing material. The pink is their misty hot pink which is a really gorgeous fabric and just lifts the panels beautifully. The lettering is in coated fabric and has a rhinestone overlay and bursts with their Varsity All Star Stones.

The lower sleeves also have a waterfall burst as well as the back panel. There is also gorgeous detail on the back so simple but very effective and eye catching. The skirt has built in briefs to give you that extra coverage as well as perfectly matching your uniform. There are really pretty rhinestone designs on the both the under bust of the crop top and the top panel of the skirt.

How it felt to wear

It was so exciting putting the outfit on, it fit like a dream and was so comfortable especially the built in shorts, which is especially handy for a cheerleader. Cheerleaders’ thighs have muscles and shorts don’t always fit the best they can, they can fit perfectly on the waist but be too tight on the thighs but not these shorts. They were so comfortable and stretchy, perfect for the cheerleader body type.

The top is stunning and so sparkly; we love the back detail it looks so good on. The back has a criss-cross detail on it so you can’t wear a bra but unless you’re D cup or above you don’t need to wear a bra because the top is very supportive. If you are a D cup or above you need to get a clear sports bra but otherwise you’re good.

Another great thing is the uniform is breathable and it doesn’t make you all sweaty and horrible. It’s not nice when you put a uniform on, do a single jump and then sweat buckets leading to those dreaded sweat patches but there’s none of that with this uniform.

As you have guessed it, we love this uniform but the most important thing about this uniform is that is doesn’t restrict your movement. It allows the athlete to do everything required of them, stunting, tumbling, dancing and jumping. Varsity understands what is required of a cheerleader and makes uniforms that meet all the demands of an athlete.

How to care for it

We spoke to Rebecca Hollis who is Varsity Spirit’s UK & Ireland Manager about washing this uniform. We thought it would be hand wash only but she assured us that you could put the uniform without softener in a washing machine and it would be fine. Deciding to put this to the test we hesitantly put the uniform in the washing machine and it came out absolutely fine, no pillow cases needed here to protect the crystals. All the crystals were still attached like she said they would be. She assures us that they were stamped on with a special machine so they aren’t coming off.

The design session

If you were to purchase a uniform you have to have a free design session with Varsity. This will allow you to collaborate with them on the design process, see all the available choices and have the freedom to ask questions and really get involved in the process and understand everything available to you. This is also a great time to explain your price range and they can still provide stunning uniforms; for example if you still want the sparkle but are on a budget you can get sequins instead of crystals. Sequins are still very effective and still sparkle on the mat.

The design session can take anything from 45 minutes up to 2 hours and a Varsity rep will share their screen with you and call your phone to create a conference call. By the end of this call you will have a much better idea of what you are looking for. It’s always good to have a phone call because misunderstandings can happen when corresponding by email.

Purchasing Steps

A) Once the order has been received the information is passed to our cutting factory in the Dominican Republic where all our beautiful fabrics are. The uniforms shells are created with all the right quantities and sizes ready to be shipped of for the next part of their adventure.

B) Now it’s time for Varsity to add all of your uniform customisations by our designers at the Varsity All Star HQ in Dallas, Texas! Here your uniforms will come to life and our famous Swarovski stones will be added.
C) Once your uniforms are ready they will be shipped to our warehouse in Memphis, Tennessee which is the size of 5 American Football pitches! Your order will have a quality control check before being added to the international shipment crate.

D) Fedex will lovingly look after your uniforms all the way over the Atlantic Ocean until they reach their destination in Hamburg, Germany. Varsity look after all the international customs and send pictures to the rep that created the uniform to make sure they are happy with the result.

E) All uniforms are packed up and ready to go! DHL makes sure that your precious cargo gets from mainland Europe to the UK and right to your front doorstep! Surprise, here is your uniform!

Here is a picture to show how far your uniforms will travel. Its quiet impressive, we had no clue that Varsity uniforms went through all these processes and explains why they can’t do a 6 week turn around. The uniform is well travelled and there has been a lot of time, attention and specialists involved in the entire process.
