Hi Guys
Hi Emily
Hi CFHTT
Why did you want to join Team England ParaCheer?
I was initially interested in the concept of ParaCheer after attending a workshop led by Rick and Jayme; in which, we experimented as a group with creating and adapting cheerleading techniques, in order to make the sport fully inclusive for all athletes. I loved how we were changing ‘rules’ and techniques that had always previously seemed ‘set in stone’.
What’s your favourite part of being on Team England ParaCheer?
My favourite part of being on Team England ParaCheer would first and foremost be having the opportunity to meet and train alongside such fantastic people! Everybody brings different elements to the team and we have really grown to be such a supportive family. I also love how Team England ParaCheer has the ability to change pre-existing mind sets about what is considered ‘impossible’.
Are there any stunt/technique adaptations you make or are a part of which you find especially interesting?
My role as base support requires me to make frequent adaptions. Within a pyramid section of our routine, I am a base support for Rick. We tried lots of different adaptations to in order to benefit us, and the stunt, such as changing where I stood and where I placed my hands. I enjoy finding new ways to make a stunt successful and feel like we are essentially re-writing the cheer technique ‘rule book’!
CFHTT is excited to see the changes you will make to stunts that people assume must be done in a certain way
Thank you for sitting down with us Emily and good luck at Worlds 2016

Until next time guys
Love CFHTT
