Team England Dance competing at ICU World Championships 2015

We have such exciting news
Last season Team England Cheer put on an amazing show. You could feel the energy from the athletes and the crowd went crazy. We all expected a great show from this team and they delivered.

Now Team England are back and they are creating a unified dance team.
They are inviting all English dancers to try out for Team England Dance both for Jazz & HipHop competing at ICU World Championships 2015
Team England Dance has got some of the best coaches from across the land to managed and coach.

Matthew Jones (oblivion Allstars)

Charlie Bedford (Angels Dance Academy- Dark Angels )

Sharon Fowler (Sharon Ann Academy ) along with some of the countries best professional sancers & choreographers

There will be two stages to the team selection process for both Jazz & HipHop

Stage 1 – Video. These must be submitted by the 31st August and must include the following:

Team Cheer HipHop

– An introduction to themselves and their dance background
– Numerous HipHop styles (Tutting, Breaking, Locking, Popping, Waaking, House, Waving, Stepping)
– Tricks & Athletic Movements (Floorwork, Tumbling Skills, Freezes, Lifts, Jumps)
– One minute choreography (from group routine or solo)

Team Cheer Jazz

– An introduction to themselves and their dance background
– Turns (Pirouettes, Pique, Chene, Fouette/a la seconde, Axel, Coupe)
– Leaps & Jumps (Split Leaps, Switch Leaps, Grand Jete, Glissade, Straddle Jumps)
– Flexibility
– One minute choreography (from group routine or solo)

Please message ‘Team England Dance’ on facebook or twitter if you would like to be considered for Team England. You will then be added to a private facebook group where you can upload your video. Once your video has been uploaded you will be removed from the group.
From these videos we will select a team to progress to the skills workshops – to be announced on Monday 8th September.

Stage 2 – Skills workshops/Team Selection Day
HipHop – Saturday 20th September 12:00pm-4:00pm
Jazz – Sunday 21st September 10:00am-2:00pm

Final ICU teams will be selected after these skills workshops and will be announced on 28th September. You must be 14 years of age before 31st August 2014 and it is FREE to trial.
