Hey Guys
Rachel who runs Essex Stars cheerleading squad.
Is currently working on a project with the charity Fixers UK and ITV to get more women back into sport between 16-25.
Rachel said ” The reason for this is that it is proven in the UK most women will drop out of all forms of physical exercise during or after GCSE’s and find it harder to get back in to a sport due to being nervous, not knowing what is out there and money situations.
With my level 1 senior team we are trying to show people that cheerleading is a great sport for all to get involved with.
Cheerleading allows all people from all backgrounds, abilities, religions and genders to come together and be part of a team.
It doesnt matter if you have no experience you can still come along and have a go.
Its very active, fun and additive. Plus it is very sociable. You are bound to make new friends.
With this campaine it should help all squads recruit new members all over England.
What we will ask you to do is to watch the 3 minute document on either the ITV website or the Fixers Uk website and share it on your facebook or twitter pages.
With this charity we are now producing a poster campaign also to go out in schools, coffee shops, bars etc where the most people can see it. It will be of working women in business clothes in stunts so it is suitable for all squad to use to help promote.
I hope you like the video it was so much fun to make.
Here is to the future of getting more people back into sport!”
