Hi guys
I’m in love with 2013 so much is going on in the cheer world especially British cheer and I’m loving it. They are so many new cheer programmes and cheer programmes expanding their programmes it’s such an exciting time for cheer.
2011-2012 season was such a great season for cheer we had constant progression so many teams winning bids to worlds and people actually, being able to do the skills required in that level .
British tumbling is improving as well; know where near where it needs to be but slow progression is still progression. More and more cheer programmes are focusing on getting their tumbles up. Programmes are being strict and not letting athletes progress to higher levels if they can’t do the tumbles required for that level. This is a hard lesson to learn especially for someone like me who can barely tumble but it’s the best for the sport to push people to tumble more.
The 2012-2013 season has just gone bang, explosion of talent and programmes. The 2012-2013 season ,we have seen new programmes started such as Marshals. There was so much pressure put on Marshals before they had even performed. The whole cheer world was abuzz with expectation and excitement. I personally thought it was silly I expected Marshals to be good and they were but I also expected them to make silly mistakes because of the amount of pressure put on them. Furthermore they are still a new team and a new programme and ICC Southerns was their first performance of the season. I felt like people wanted them to be the British Cheer Athletics Cheetahs which they could be in time but in time people, every team needs time to develop and grow.
Oblivion Allstars and programme which I felt came out of know where but apparently developed from dc49 members wanting to start their own team. I know people seem to have problems when members from one programme break away and start their own programme but how do people expect the sport to progress and develop if this doesn’t happen. Most of us fall in love with this sport and have the desire to start our own programme because we feel we can bring something to the sport that no one else has and could not only benefit ourselves but other people around us.
Predators Athletics is a new cheerleading club based in Bristol. Becky Hopton who is one of the predator coaches is on Unity Black level 6. Becky Hopton also competed at ICU Worlds last year in All Girl group stunt Team England where they placed 6th out of 12th and she also competed with unity Black at worlds were they placed 5th. I believe she’s one of the best at twisting in baskets in the Uk to date. I haven’t seen these guys perform yet but my sources told me that these guys were amazing for brand new programme and people should watch this space
This season we have seen programmes expanding in what level they compete in. No one is doing this better then Unity Allstars who everyone knows dominates the British cheer world. They have expanding they programme adding jade level 2 senior, changing indigo to co-ed senior and pearl are now level 3 junior.
Spark Elite have also expanded their programme adding sparklers to their family. Sparklers are senior level 1 team who placed second on they debut performance and winter wonderland this year.
Coventry Dyminate have also expanded their programme by adding level 3 co-ed and level 5 co-ed.
One of my favourite cheerleaders from this team is Chelsey Knight, I’ve never seen a person sing so hard in a routine. You can tell she loves this sport and that’s why I love to watch this girl perform.
Level 5 All girl this season really does seem to be a competition a fight to the finish. There are so many good level 5 team: Pretty bullets , Surrey starlet amethyst, Goldstar Galaxy , RSD action and rising star Ellipse
Surrey Starlets have beaten both pretty bullets and Goldstar Galaxy already this season which I was honestly shocked about but at the end of the day people are hungry to win and show the rest of the cheer world that they should have always been on top. Surrey Starlets have always gone a bit under the radar but people are talking about them now since winning ICC Southerns and Heart of England and beating Gold stars by 14 points
I’m excited to see all these teams battle it out because they have very good skillset but it’s all about who hits on day. Who has the stretches, lands the tumbles and who doesn’t bobble because a bobble can be the difference between first and second place between these teams. This is why I love this level at the moment because anyone could win and that’s how it should be. You should be made to feel, you’ve earn the number 1 spot and have given everything, humanly possible to that routine. Level 5 this season is going to be a epic battle to the finish, I’m so excited ladies.
There is so much happening in the cheer world and it’s only March. This month alone we have Northern Jam and ICC Nationals which everyone on twitter is buzzing about because it seems so many teams are going.
Don’t even get me started on Worlds, I feel like my head is going to explode so many British programmes going to worlds. I always been jealous that I’ve never been to worlds but this season even more so because so many teams are going

Hi, I’m Lisa and I’m on a new team called Perth All Stars in Scotland:) We’ve never competed before and overall our team is level 3 – we only have enough people to make one team so we have youth, junior, senior etc on one team. We have to use three different gyms because we don’t have our own yet, and our uniforms are coming only a week before scotcheer nationals!
So we don’t have much experience, but you seem to know a lot about UK cheer! If you could let me know some of the good teams in the UK that would be really good! Thanks!x
Hi Lisa I would be happy to help you email me at cheerfromheadtotoe@yahoo.co.uk so I can give more detail reply
