CheerCoach.net, in collaboration with Panvista Productions is producing a cheerleading documentary: The Truth behind the Pompoms.                                                                                                 From what we have seen in the preview the documentary seems to be depicting the truth about british Cheerleading  and informing the viewer so they can make a knowledgeable decision about the sport. The documentary includes Tori Hardy Head coach of unity , Tessa Crow of Future cheer , Claire Mckay Head coach of Goldstar and we hope many more people.

Hi, the problem is not that people don’t know what cheerleading is, all misunderstanding is due to the lack of information and honesty from coaches regarding the risk and dangers of practicing cheerleading. Coaches shouldn’t teach children unless they have explained openly and honestly what cheerleading is about. I was a misleaded mother who put my eight year old to do cheerleading at school but nobody bothered to tell me what my daughter was supposed to do in the session. Nevetheless, the coach was very quick on asking me to sign a liability form in which I absolve her of any responsibility if my daughter suffered injury, illness or any damage of any sort. If you are going to teach something so dangerous to children at least take the responsibility for your actions.

      Its ashamed that you had,bad experience with not properly being inform of the risks of this amazing sport. The risks should always be explain but for me the rewards have always out-weigh the risk. I have made friends for life and have learnt life skills such as commitment , discipline and respect for other all skill I use in my working life.
